I am an active seventy-two year old congenital armless Afro-American with twenty years type 2 diabetes and a fifty-year history of hypotension. For forty-four years, I drove up to 650 miles per week, getting in and out of my car an average of 35 times a day. I began having back problems in 1989, which caused me to retire in 1998. In 2002 it became very painful to stand or walk, and in 2004 both hip joints became painful.
I'm all ears with your desire to help ease the pain. The pain is in the lower part of my back right in the line under or just below my belt. I always attribute it to the many years and miles behind the steering wheel. While driving, both feet are busy; left foot for steering and right foot for everything else. The upper part of my body is held in place by the strength of my back and seat of my pants, and my coworkers didn't call me roadrunner for nothing; I had to get there get it done and then on to the next place. I would pick up a crate of drinks with my feet and put it on the table, shave six days a week, comb my hair, brush my teeth; in other words, my back had be more limber than a wet noodle but stronger than a 2x4. Now, while teaching Sunday School, I try to move around while sitting on the end of a desk or chair, without bring too much attention to my situation and keep the tears under control while talking.
I have tried everything possible for pain relief, but nothing has provided total relief. I have used the Duragesic patch for three years and the T.E.N.S. unit enabled me to resume some activities.
I took advantage of your recent offer for a free package of Mini Magnets and within two days I realized that I was more active, with less pain. I could shave without pain and I slept better. The magnets were as effective as the T.E.N., without wires.
I have not used the magnets for ten days because I ran out of tape, and miss them greatly. When I work around the house; cooking, vacuuming, stacking the dishwasher, putting clothes in the washer or dryer, I have pain but I won't stop until I have finished.
